Soy and ginger glazed chicken drumettes

ServesServes Serves 4 6 as pre-dinner finger food


2 cloves garlic
2cm ginger
100ml thick sweet soy
50ml hoisin
25ml vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
24 chicken drumettes


  1. Peel and finely dice the garlic and ginger
  2. Mix together with the soy, hoisin and both oils
  3. Marinate the chicken drumettes, cover and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours
  4. Preheat oven to 180° C
  5. Place the chicken into a roasting tray and pour over any excess marinade
  6. Roast until the chicken is cooked through and the marinade has begun to caramelise
  7. Allow to cool a little before serving
